About

Ops as a practice, not a department

I'm Sean — the founder and operator behind SimpleScale. I've spent 15+ years building and running operations across growth-stage and enterprise businesses, including five years as SVP of Operations at ThirdHome — a luxury travel and real-estate membership platform — where I scaled the ops organization from 6 to 50+ people, doubled team capacity, and drove 70% revenue growth through process redesign and automation. Earlier: strategic planning and general management at Fidelity Investments.

What I've consistently seen: most operational problems aren't that complicated. They come from unclear ownership, weak cadences, or processes that never got designed — they just accumulated. The fix usually involves less than people expect, applied in the right sequence.

SimpleScale exists because growing businesses often need senior operational judgment without committing to a full-time hire before they know what they actually need. That's the gap I fill.

Why SimpleScale

The name is intentional. Most businesses don't need elaborate systems — they need lightweight, well-designed ones that their team can actually use. Complexity isn't sophistication. It's usually just risk in disguise.

SimpleScale is built on the idea that the best operating system is the one that disappears — the one where the team knows what to do, has the information they need, and can adapt without everything breaking.

We don't build empires. We build operating muscle.

Working style

Calm under pressure

Operational problems are rarely neat. I stay measured, find the root cause, and move.

Structured thinking

I like clear frameworks, but I don't impose them for their own sake. Structure exists to make decisions easier.

Decisive

I'd rather make a decision with 80% of the information and adjust than wait for perfect clarity that never comes.

Low ego

The work is what matters. I'm not building a legacy — I'm trying to solve your problem.

Outcome-driven

Activity without results is just noise. Everything I do is oriented toward measurable impact.

Values

Clarity

Ambiguity is expensive. Clear ownership, clear metrics, clear priorities.

Ownership

I don't hand off problems — I help solve them and build the muscle to keep them solved.

Simplicity

The right system is the simplest one that works. Complexity creep is real and slow.

Trust

Good working relationships are built on reliability. I do what I say I'll do.
